Kalash is the most fundamental part of the daily pooja. The kalash is placed with due rituals on all important occasions like the traditional house warming (grahapravesh), wedding, daily worship etc. It is placed near the entrance as a sign of welcome.

5 kind of dry fruits are used as offerings in pooja thali, which include almonds, cashews, walnuts, kismis & pista.
 
 
 
PRAYER INGREDIENTS
Marigold flowers (satin)
These yellow color flowers are widely used in puja of Ganesha, Laxmi and all major deities. They are also used for making rangoli. Their vibrant colours add grace to your prayer altar . In absence of fresh flowers , these serve the purpose .

Sweet offerings
Mixture of Chirongi & Mishri (sugar crystals) for offering to deity during worship. After the Aarti the prasada (sweet offerings) is distributed to the devotees and consumed.

Jow (Barley grains)
These grains symbolise abundance and prosperity . Used in Havan ceremonies. They are sprouted during Navratri times and other Hindu festival times to signify abundance and growth.

Honey
Honey is an integral part of traditional pooja thali. Honey symbolizes the sweetness of eternal love, purity and prosperity. During the pooja ritual, honey along with milk, tulsi and yogurt is poured on the idols. Honey is used to prepare Madhu-parka - a beverage made of honey, sugar, and milk is offered to the deity.

Shubh Kalash
